Anyone can address the Lago Vista City Council. You don't need to live in the city, and you don't need to be an expert.
The City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM, with special called meetings when needed. Executive session is usually 3:00 to 4:00 PM, before the open meeting.
The agenda is posted at least 72 hours before each meeting, as Texas law requires. Find it on the city's Agendas and Minutes page (opens in a new tab). The agenda also lists where the meeting is held.
Under the Texas Open Meetings Act, the public has the right to speak on any agenda item before or during council's consideration of it (Government Code §551.007).
If you raise something that isn't on the agenda, council members can listen and give facts or a statement of policy, but they can't discuss it or vote on it at that meeting. They can ask for it to be put on a future agenda.
